A beautiful steamed dessert with an Italian festive bread perfect for the Christmas season.
1 LB / 500 G Panettone
2 EA eggs
2 OZ / 55 G soft brown sugar
4 OZ / 120 ML cream
6 OZ / 180 ML milk
1 TSP nutmeg
1 EA orange
17 OZ / 500 ML hot water
Add the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, nutmeg and orange juice with zest to the mixing bowl.
Mix for 20 seconds / speed 5. Pour mix into a large bowl and rinse out the mixing bowl.
Slice the bread then dip into the egg mixture to allow the bread to soak up the custard.
Lay evenly into the deep steamer tray.
Pour over the excess custard on over the top.
Add the water to the bowl and attach the steamer, steam for 30 minutes / 230°F|110°C / speed 2 / reverse.
Spoon out the pudding and serve with some whipped cream. Enjoy your dish!
