Tender beef coated in sweet and savory sauce, ready in less than 30 minutes!
Ingredients
2 TBSP dark brown sugar
1 TBSP light soy sauce
1 OZ / 20 G ginger
2 CLOVES garlic
4 TBSP cornstarch
5.5 OZ / 150 G hot water
1 OZ / 25 G green onion
21 OZ / 600 G new york strip loin
1 TBSP sesame seeds
1 TSP salt
1 TSP ground black pepper
2 TBSP cold water
Directions
Slice your steak thinly across the grain and add to a medium bowl with half of the cornstarch. Set aside, then after 10 minutes, add the steak to the deep steaming tray.
Peel your ginger and garlic, then add to the mixing bowl. Chop up finely in TURBO mode for 10 seconds. Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl.
Add your sugar, hot water and soy sauce to the mixing bowl. Attach the deep steaming tray to the mixing bowl. Then, cook your sauce and beef for 15 minutes / 250°F|120°C / speed 2 / stir. Once the beef is cooked, use a plate to catch the drips from the beef and reserve for the next step.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining cornstarch and cold water. Add the beef and cornstarch mix to the mixing bowl and attach the lid. The beef should not be fully cooked. Cook with the measuring cup removed for 5 minutes / 230°F|110°C / speed 1 / stir. Once cooked, serve with some sliced green onion and sesame seeds.
